WHOOHOO

While at a uber huge mall here today, I randomly went into a music shop looking for stickers my my guitar case. And do you know what I found?
The motherload of all motherloads.
The mozzarella of all cheese.
I found....SAILOR MOON STICKERS!!!
*jumps up and down and shrieks in happiness*
WHOOHOO!!! Honestly, what are the odds?

Anyway, I'm trying to learn the guitar...and I'm loving every second of it.
I just bought some music books at a used book store for a great price, one of which is a Good Charlotte book. So, that will be some future fun...

Anyone have any tips for a newbie guitarist? If I can even be called that...

Alright, I'll let y'all be!
Thanks for reading.

Think I can apply to be a film critic?

Haha, wouldn't that be awesome to be a film critic? Well, maybe not so much now that I think about it. I wouldn't want to see every single movie. Especially Will Ferrell films.
Anyway, I felt like posting a random list of all the movies I've seen this summer. I'll probably write reviews at a later date in time, I'll give a quick letter grade for the movie though. :D

Summer Movies I've Seen :-) :

  • Star Trek (Twice) -A
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Twice) -B
  • Terminator: Salvation (Twice) -B
  • Up -A
  • My Sister's Keeper -B-
  • The Proposal -B-
  • Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen -B+
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince -A-
  • Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian -C+/B-
  • Julie and Julia -B-
  • G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra -C+/B-
Man, I love movies. They're just so awesome.

Now, goodnight for real. XD

Thanks for reading. :)

Movie Theaters, and how the word awesome does not apply to ours.

Alright, So I'm here in the great city (which shall remain unnamed out of paranoia XD) and have been to pretty much every movie theater here.
They have dollar theaters, they have epic theaters, they have imax. They. Have. Everything. I mean, in at least two here they give away free movie posters! This is uber fantastical!!! Especially since I like to collect autographs, and these freebies give me something to send off to get signed. What does the theater have back where I live?

One poorly laid out lobby, and...well....movies.

Which, don't get me wrong, movies are all they really need, but if I'm going to go spend 20$ dollars to gain access to this theater, I would like some environment.

You know what I mean?

Anyway, I'm coming home next week. I do miss my friends and family. Also, I'm actually excited about starting school back. Anybody else shocked that that's actually possible?
I've already raided the Wal-Mart of their 15 cent notebooks (but who says there's not room for more? One can NEVER have too many notebooks.), and am eager to write something in them! >:D Just..hopefully not math. Bleh. I hate math.
It's a stupid conspiracy.

Anyway, that concludes my complete random chatter for tonight.

Thanks for reading! :D

My Friend's Father's Dating Rules

My friend gave me permission to share the dating rules given to her be her father. They are truly brilliant:

Rule One:
If you pull into my driveway and honk you'd better be delivering a package, because you're sure not picking anything up.

Rule Two:
You do not touch my daughter in front of me. You may glance at her, so long as you do not peer at anything below her neck. If you cannot keep your eyes or hands off of my daughter's body, I will remove them..

Rule Three:
I am aware that it is considered fashionable for boys of your age to wear their trousers so loosely that they appear to be falling off their hips. Please don't take this as an insult, but you and all of your friends are complete idiots. Still, I want to be fair and open minded about this issue, so I propose this compromise: You may come to the door with your underwear showing and your pants ten sizes too big, and I will not object. However, in order to ensure that your clothes do not, in fact come off during the course of your date with my daughter, I will take my electric nail gun and fasten your trousers securely in place to your waist.

Rule Four:
I'm sure you've been told that in today's world, sex without utilizing a 'Barrier method' of some kind can kill you. Let me elaborate, when it comes to sex, I am the barrier, and I will kill you.

Rule Five:
It is usually understood that in order for us to get to know each other, we should talk about sports, politics, and other issues of the day. Please do not do this. The only information I require from you is an indication of when you expect to have my daughter safely back at my house, and the only word I need from you on this subject is: 'early.'

Rule Six:
I have no doubt you are a popular fellow, with many opportunities to date other girls. This is fine with me as long as it is okay with my daughter. Otherwise, once you have gone out with my little girl, you will continue to date no one but her until she is finished with you. If you make her cry, I will make you cry.

Rule Seven:
As you stand in my front hallway, waiting for my daughter to appear, and more than an hour goes by, do not sigh and fidget. If you want to be on time for the movie, you should not be dating. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a process than can take longer than painting the Golden Gate Bridge . Instead of just standing there, why don't you do something useful, like changing the oil in my car?

Rule Eight:
The following places are not appropriate for a date with my daughter: Places where there are beds, sofas, or anything softer than a wooden stool. Places where there is darkness. Places where there is dancing, holding hands, or happiness. Places where the ambient temperature is warm enough to induce my daughter to wear shorts, tank tops, midriff T-shirts, or anything other than overalls, a sweater, and a goose down parka - zipped up to her throat. Movies with a strong romantic or sexual themes are to be avoided; movies which feature chain saws are okay. Hockey games are okay. Old folks homes are better.

Rule Nine:
Do not lie to me. I may appear to be a potbellied, balding, middle-aged, dimwitted has-been. But on issues relating to my daughter, I am the all-knowing, merciless god of your universe. If I ask you where you are going and with whom, you have one chance to tell me the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I have a shotgun, a shovel, and five acres behind the house. Do not trifle with me.

Rule Ten:
Be afraid. Be very afraid. It takes very little for me to mistake the sound of your car in the driveway for a chopper coming in over a rice paddy near Hanoi . When my Agent Orange starts acting up, the voices in my head frequently tell me to clean the guns as I wait for you to bring my daughter home. As soon as you pull into the driveway you should exit the car with both hands in plain sight. Speak the perimeter password, announce in a clear voice that you have brought my daughter home safely and early, then return to your car - there is no need for you to come inside. The camouflaged face at the window is mine.

NOTE: I DID NOT WRITE THESE. I'M SHARING (WITH PERMISSION)

This crazy little thing called Twitter.

Yes. I have hopped on that band wagon.
And I'm still not quite sure why.

One thing that keeps me entertain, however, are the numerous accounts set up to be from the point of view of popular fictional characters.
I recently started following "The Cullens." You know, from that lesser known book series? :-P
It's interesting to see them incorporate current events and media into their improvisational storyline.

But, you're not cool unless you follow Darth Vader.

Alright, I know this was extremely short, but I'll blog more later.
Maybe.

Later -

2009 Movie Line Up - Super Success or Box Office Bummer

Hey fellow movie lovers! As I was randomly browsing Flixster's upcoming movie list, I saw some rather exciting titles in the 09' summer line-up. However, I also came upon some rather astonishing sequels...

In this post I will talk about the "highlights" of next year's flick list.

First on the line-up (that I'm excited about, anyway) is Inkheart.

Inkheart, based on the bestselling book by Cornelia Funke, follows Mo and his daughter Meggie through their novel adventures. And when I say novel, I mean it literally. This father/daughter team possesses a unique ability. One that every book lover dreams of obtaining. They have the power to read characters and objects out of books. When this gift brings a power-seeking villian to the relms of their world, however, things go from bad to worse.

So, while I have read the first two books in the Inkheart series (waiting for the third to go on paperback :D) and am looking forward to seeing this film adaption, I wonder if they will stay true to the storyline? I'm a stickler for accuracy.

Inkheart opens January 23

Next up - Fanboys

In what appears to be the style of Superbad, Fanboys is about a group of teens who drive cross country to sneak into the Skywalker ranch for a sneak peek at the then unreleased "Starwars Episode 1: Phantom Menace".

After seeing the trailer, I'm thinking that this film is going to be a mixed burrito of Superbad, Ocean's 11, and Starwars obsessed fans. While I did laugh at some of the displayed humor in the trailer, I can't help as to ponder the initial script. Will it be witty, or our we going to be sick of Starwars references by the time we leave the theater?

Fanboys opens February 06

Alright all you Anime fans! Your dream has finally come true! Hollywood actually made Dragonball into a live action movie. Why,I ask, couldn't have been Sailor Moon instead? WHY?!

Plot- Goku needs to fight evil evilness trying to take over the world, and the only way to do this is to obtain the Dragonballs that will give them the power to summon the mighty dragon.

I honestly don't think they'll be able to pull this off. Ok, let's do an experiment. Close your eyes and try to imagine an live action actor shouting "Kah-me', Kah-me', HA!" (excuse my horrible DB spelling.) Now, try to refrain from laughing.

Exactly.

Face the corny-ness on April 8.

Next up on the agenda is X-Men Origins - Wolverine (FINALLY

This spin-off of the X-Men triligoy centers around Logan's (AKA Wolverine) mysterious past. How did he become what he is today? How did he meet William Stryker? What's the story behind his hairstyle? Hopefuly all, if not more, of these answers will be revealed Wolverine.

I am EXTREMELY excited about this movie! I am (and always will be) a Marvel movie fan. Except for "The Punisher." That was just bad.

"Beam me to the nearest movie theater, Scottie!" Yep, you heard me right. Star Trek will once again grace us with it's awesome-ness.
Here is the plot as "Yahoo! Movies" spells it out -
"The early days of James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and first outer space mission. "

Straight forward, and to the point.
Of course, if you are a Heroes fan you will instantly recognize this face in the movie poster. It's SYLAR (AKA Zachary Quinto)!

Out May 8

I am excited to say that the Transformers sequel is coming out summer 09'! Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen continues the epic Autobots VS. Decepticons battle.

This is sure to be a great follow up to a surperb movie.

Opens July 26

"Accio Harry Potter Movie!" It's getting closer and closer! Harry's 6th year at Hogwarts proves to be a distressing one. Hopefully New Moon won't bump Harry's release date back.

Out July 17

A lot of sequels are coming out next year, some of which are:

  • Night at the Museum 2
  • Terminator Salvation (WOOT!)
  • Superman: Man of Steel
  • Camp Rock 2 (I object.)
  • Toy Story 3, whose plot (according to Flixster) consists of Buzz being recalled to Taiwan and the rest of the toys going to rescue him. No joke. The people over at Pixar have a sense of humor.
  • High School Musical 4 (NO! BAD DISNEY! Plus, didn't they just graduate? Wouldn't it be College Musical? Or how about I Sang All Through High School and Didn't Pay Attention To Anything, So Now I'm a High School Drop Out Musical?
  • Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Why? Just tell me why?)
  • Spider-Man 4 (Don't screw it up with random dancing scenes.)
  • Little Fockers
  • Sin City 2

Alright, that's all I have the breath for! Thanks for reading!
Later!
